3D Printing FAQ

1. Can I design multiple parts ALLINONE file?

Sorry to tell you that each file could only support 1 part for printing, please kindly separate the multiple parts into separate files and upload the files separately.

2. Can you print semi-transparent or transparent parts?

Currently, the printing of semi-transparent and transparent materials is NOT supported, but we will surely consider them in the near future, please kindly stay tuned.

3. Can the thread be printed out?

Yes, the minimum thread we can make is M6 coarse thread.

4. Can the resin parts be painted? Do you support spray-painting?

Sorry, the spray-painting for resin parts is not supported in our company for the moment. But we will surely consider it in the future.

Generally, 3D resin prints can be painted, but the print has to be sanded slightly and a primer has to be applied to make sure that the paint will stick properly and more durably to the surface of the prints.

5. What does the "File Error" notice 0.8mm wall thickness detected mean?

The reason why the "File Error" page showed up is as follows.

Generally, there are thin areas which is below our minimum printing requirement, we will contact our customer to confirm if we could proceed or not. Because there are potential risks of deformation, crack, loss and damage. But now, if the file design is all good but only with small thin areas, or the thin areas are not that essential. Most of our customers are happy to take the risks, they do not need us to contact them to confirm the thin areas issues again and again.

So, for faster review and approval, we have generated a analysis software to read the file data after orders are submitted and offered the page and the button to be selected.

Also, there might also be other file errors detected by the analysis software, such as bad file, multi-parts in one file, inverted normals, bad edges, bad contours, near bad edges, planar holes, multi-shells and possible noise shells, overlapping and intersecting triangles and so on.

Sometimes, the errors might be caused due to the structure design, also it could be caused by the different file format (stl, step, stp obj etc...) generating from the original design software. But no worries, all the review will be subject to the final review by manual. If there are any issues or risks which we could not proceed, we will also contact you by email then.

6. My file size is over 80MB, which was refused and failed for uploading , how can I make my file smaller ?

Please kindly try to do the triangle reduction to make the file size smaller. Also, when exporting your file, please do not select or set too precise surface, actually minimum 0.01mm shall be OK, which will also help to reduce the file size.

7. Why the price quoted on the website is "$1", but the final price changed after the order reviewed?

Actually, our minimum 3D printing starting price is $1/pcs (different material has a different starting price), and the unit price quoted on our website depends on the volume/dimension of your model. If the real volume of the model could not be correctly detected (e.g. : "0" volume) due to the file error, it will show $1/pcs (minimum starting price) or a reference price when ordering, but please kindly note that all the final price will be updated after the order is reviewed by manual. So please kindly check your files carefully before uploading, and the "stl" format file is highly recommended.
